"Mark's ability to truly understand what a customer wants and needs by asking the right questions sets him apart."
Mark Wigginton understands the importance of asking quality questions and used them throughout his career as a salesperson, management consultant, trainer, and even as a jail counselor (that’s a long story). He recently retired as a Regional Vice President for Shipley Associates, a global leader in business development consulting and training.
A Business Development Strategy Adviser and Certified Professional Coach, Mark helps his clients learn the importance of customer focus, as well as how to advance the sales cycle, clarify goals and win more business! In addition to his 30+ years of sales education at the “school of hard knocks”, his professional training includes post-graduate certificate in Business and Executive Coaching and an MS in Counseling Psychology. He is certified by the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP) as a Capture, Bid and Proposal Practitioner.
Let's work together develop a results-focused action plan for your personal and professional life.
"Being able to talk through goals and prioritize what needed to be done allowed me to focus my energy...I avoided burnout and getting overwhelmed."
Setting and achieving big goals is not a journey of "sunshine and lollipops". There are setbacks, delays and challenges all along the way. As your coach, Mark will help you develop your plan and provide the support you need to be successful. Whether it's serving as your mentor, cheerleader, brainstormer, or accountability partner, Mark will work with you the way that makes most sense for you.
"You live what you say. I’ve seen you transform yourself, and I see how you find out the real issue behind the issue."
Mark's journey of "reinvention" began in 2004 when he made a conscious decision to change from a sedentary lifestyle to a marathon runner. Over the next ten years, he evolved from a "couch slouch" to an Ironman triathlete.
Mark also struggled with imposter syndrome and he worked hard to change his mindset. With a new attitude, his sales revenue exploded, growing by over 300%. He also began to impact his clients’ businesses, become a trusted advisor to client executives in the defense industry, and just plain have more fun!
"Mark has a pragmatic, humble style that validated my good ideas and suggested alternatives to the not-so-good ones."
I "practice what I teach"!
Over twenty years ago, I read a book that changed my professional and personal life.
Enlightened Leadership: Getting to the Heart of Change by Ed Oakley and Doug Krug. I learned and taught the principles of Effective Questions and Managing Focus to executives for some of the largest companies in the world.
I applied them in my own life to manage my focus and generate extraordinary results in my personal and professional life. Now I'm helping others apply these principles in their business and personal lives through coaching and consulting.
I help ordinary people achieve extraordinary results in their personal and professional life by leveraging my 40 years of experience as a change agent. Together, we will clarify your goals and map ways to accomplish them.
I understand the power of focused goalsetting. Throughout my career I overcame challenges and consistently achieved high sales results.
Since 2001, I have provided coaching and consulting to business development executives and teams. I have developed long-term executive relationships; helping senior leaders clarify goals, organize teams, and grow as leaders.
In my personal life, I evolved from a "couch slouch" to completing 18 marathons and an Ironman triathlon.
Professional training includes post-graduate certificate in Business and Executive Coaching; BA & MS in Counseling Psychology.

"If you're looking for a partner to help you create an action plan and help you stay accountable to your plan, Mark is who I would reach out to."
Coaching isn't something that happens to you. It happens through you. You must be an active player in the game, not a spectator.
"A true partner in developing plans, Mark assimilates information, adds valuable insight when appropriate, and fully commits to the customer's objectives."
You will set the agenda, frequency and tempo of the coaching session. Based on your needs, I'll act as a thought partner, cheerleader, accountability partner or some combination.
"He has been a great resource and collaborator as I have set and achieved my stretch goals."
A productive coaching relationship begins with two people coming together for a common purpose - for you to move forward in your journey. To be coached successfully you must want to learn, to grow and to be truly committed to spend the time and energy to make your goals happen.
I guarantee you'll leave the call with at least one actionable idea.
